This is what happens when in less than two months your fourth child is born, you move, and you get called into the bishopric. Almost THREE years later...I think I'm caught up. I doubt anyone will know this blog is happening, but I can at least keep it for myself. It's always great to be able to look back and remember where you've come from.
Last night was a great example of the craziness that can ensue in a household of 6. Between a late meeting for me, taco dinner with only a pound of meat ration out, FHE, joys of potty training, and kids' refusals to go to bed at the proper time, both Hoosier Mama and I were completely worn out. Finally noise cancelling headphones and the movie Far and Away on the iPad did the trick. I was out before 10 pm.

Jericho DIED--yet AGAIN!!
I really got into the CBS show Jericho, again, this season. Granted, I didn't send any nuts to the show's producers over the summer, but I still enjoyed the "what if" aspect the show explored. Well, the walls really did fall down this time as the Season 2 finale became the Series Finale. The bomb made it to Texas, Hawkins got stitched up, and the second American Civil War is looming thanks to a couple F-16s taking down a couple F-15s (like that could happen). Oh well, guess I'll have to find something else to do Tuesday nights at 10 PM Eastern. Guess I'll spend more time here: http://www.cougarboard.com.

Hitting the Home Stretch at Work
College admissions is a crazy game. A wise man once said that college admissions is "the art of precision guesswork". With costs only getting higher, the anxiety families feel only adds to the anxiety admissions offices have this time of year. Enrollment deposits are coming in later and later every year. The picture above is from the information session I held in Detroit, MI for admitted students--over 100 people showed up. Students are putting off deciding until they get that last look over spring break. That brings us to this week. Over the past two days, I have met with 27 students and their families. And in the parents' eyes, their kid is the greatest thing to come along for higher education. It never fails to crack me up how the parent will continue to push her/his child's accomplishments on an admissions counselor even MONTHS AFTER the student has been admitted. As the Dean of Admissions says, "What a crazy way to make a living!"

First Facebook and Now This
Reading my sister's (PinkyMcG in NYC) blog made me decide that the time has come for me to keep the fam updated with the ease of a blog. With summer approaching and lots of activities/changes coming, this will be a good way to keep inquiring minds informed. Who knows, I may even become a prolific blogger.
